You’re a working mom who wants a career, but still wants to spend precious time with your family.
You feel completely overwhelmed by the demands on your time.
You know there has to be a way to have a successful career and personal life without sacrificing yourself in the process.
I know this because I’ve been in your shoes. I tried to do it all and constantly felt like I was failing.
I was Vice President at a tech company and the breadwinner for my family. I went back to business travel by the time my older daughter was 4 months. I used my breast pump on conference calls and in train bathrooms for months after having my younger daughter. I took on more responsibility and a bigger team and more travel.
I wanted to prove that I was still as capable as ever.
I had it all.
A beautiful home in the suburbs, two beautiful little daughters, a supportive husband, and a thriving career. But did I really have it all? I was exhausted and unhappy. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was doing it wrong.
I was on a plane home from my 10th business trip to LA in one year and I fell apart. I couldn’t hold it together anymore. The stress got too overwhelming. I missed my family. I was so tired of feeling like there was no time for the things that mattered. I struggled to hide the tears flowing down my face during the cross country flight. It all felt wrong. I needed to make a change. I wanted to feel like I was focused on the right things.
I had a feeling I had veered far off track.
I changed jobs within my company to have less business travel and more balance. I set boundaries on my time. I figured out what was important to me and I made time for those things. I put systems in place to make my life easier. I gave myself a break when I needed it. Eventually, I even quit a 12 year career to start my own business. My life looks nothing like what it did before because I got serious about creating a life I loved and not following someone else’s path. It took me over two years to make this shift.
You don’t have to waste time.
You, my friend, don’t have to learn this lesson the hard way like I did. You can have it all. We just have to define what your “all” means. You can be the accomplished career woman and a fantastic wife and mom. It just won’t happen by chance and it won’t happen if you use someone else’s definition of success.
If this speaks to you and you’re ready to take the next steps, let’s talk.
